Welcome

My name is Fiona Tasker and I teach a graceful, flowing form of yoga with music. You are encouraged to go at your own pace, listening deeply to what is right for your body in each moment, and there is no competition. Beginners are welcome.

About me

I have been practising and studying yoga and meditation for 18 years, including a variety of styles and traditions.

I began teaching 12 years ago, while still with one foot in my career as a human rights specialist on Latin America for Amnesty International. I qualified both as a yoga teacher and a yoga therapist, with a special interest in adapting yoga to support different health conditions. I then went on to specialise in pregnancy yoga, postnatal yoga and baby yoga.

10 years ago I moved to The Netherlands to teach full-time, running a busy yoga studio in The Hague and working as senior tutor on the Dru Yoga teacher training course. I also taught postgraduate training in pregnancy yoga and yogadance (not at the same time!). And I am still learning of course! In August 2009 it was time to come back to the UK and I set up Yoga Brighton and Hove.

My approach to teaching is inclusive, light-hearted and down-to-earth. I am keen to make yoga accessible to all and can offer adjustments for most health conditions. Although my approach is gentle, I will challenge you with some dynamic movement too so that you leave the class feeling well-stretched, energised and at the same time deeply relaxed and peaceful.
